The survey was conducted from March 2017 to October 2017, 8 months research work on the avifauna
diversity of Surzai Payan Peshawar. This study was carried out in three zones, wetland, agricultural and
arid. During the survey 78 different species were recorded belonging to 16 orders and 37 families. In the
present research study highest numbers of species of the order. Passeriformes 48.71% (38 species) were
recorded. Among birds 58 common, 15 uncommon and 5 rare species were reported. Common mynas had
adopted bank myna’s nest behaviors. Among surveyed birds 60.25% species were spring breeders.
Mosquitoes borne diseases can be reduce by insectivorous bird species especially warblers; swallows and
other songbird consume flying insects. Birds are very sensitive towards change in environment and feel
great threats in the present time.
